What are Dermal Fillers?

There are a variety of dermal fillers available to correct fine to deep lines around the nose, midface, and mouth. There are also fillers designed to be placed deeper in the face to improve shape and volume that has been lost due to aging or weight loss. Fillers often work in synergy with other facial injections, non-surgical skin treatments, and medical grade skin care for optimal rejuvenation.

To learn more about dermal fillers, get in touch with our Fort Worth office today. Licensed Aesthetician and Certified Injector, Jennifer Geyer would be happy to answer your questions and address your concerns in a thorough initial consultation.

Our Fort Worth Office Offers Many Injectable Dermal Fillers

Because there are so many options available, Jennifer will take time at your first appointment to discuss your desires and goals. After a thorough exam of your anatomy, she will develop a customized plan using the latest, advanced injection techniques and the best fillers for each patient and anatomic location. We offer the following injectable dermal fillers:

Juvéderm®

The Juvéderm® family of products includes Juvéderm® Ultra, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus, Juvéderm® Vollure, and Juvéderm® Volbella. They are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers that work by attracting water to plump up wrinkles and folds. The Juvéderm® family is FDA approved for use in correction of wrinkles and lines around the mouth and for lip augmentation. Juvéderm® Volbella is a recently-FDA-approved version of Juvéderm® designed to treat fine lines around the mouth and for augmentation of the lips. Results typically last 8-12 months, and up to 18 months with Juvéderm® Vollure.

Juvéderm® Voluma XC

Juvéderm® Voluma is a highly versatile HA filler designed for deeper placement for volume enhancement. It is ideal for augmentation of the cheeks, temples, and may be useful for peri-oral augmentation in some patients.

Restylane®

The Restylane® family is also made up of HA products and include Restylane®, Restylane®-L, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Refyne/Defyne, and Restylane®-Lyft. They also work by attracting water to plump up the skin. Restylane®, Restylane®-L, and Restylane® Refyne/Defyne are designed for wrinkles and folds around the mouth. Restylane® Silk is used for fine lines around the mouth and lip augmentation. Restylane®-Lyft is designed to provide long lasting volume in cheeks. Restylane® Kysse is a newer lip filler that allows for subtle but precise lip augmentation and definition and has become one of Jennifer’s favorites for lip enhancement.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is derived from mineral compounds similar to those found in our bones. Longevity is longer than the HA fillers, and this material may stimulate production of collagen. It should only be used in deep locations, however.

Sculptra®

Sculptra® works very differently than the aforementioned fillers and is derived from materials used in some absorbable sutures. Sculptra® works by stimulating your body’s own collagen. It requires several treatments staged about six weeks apart. The results, however, are semi-permanent and are still seen two years after injection.
