Before the treatment, you will be asked to wash your face and neck to reduce the risk of infection. Your chin will then be sanitized with a surgical scrub, and Dr. Steele will mark the areas to be injected. He will then administer a local anesthetic and/or ice under your chin to help manage any pain.
Once the area is anesthetized, Dr. Steele or Jennifer will inject the various sites with a tiny needle. Patients typically receive 20 to 30 injections per session, and the process is quick and relatively painless.
After the procedure, you can go home and apply ice to your neck on and off for the next couple of days to help reduce the anticipated swelling. Also avoid vigorous exercise in the days following a Kybella® injection at our Fort Worth practice. We typically recommend rest after your treatment, so you are encouraged to take a few hours off of work or have Kybella® administered before a weekend off.
